The next edition of the Outcasting / VODO collaboration is due for release next week and will be available to download from then onwards. In keeping with the spirit of the Valentine’s season we have selected two works for release that deal with the darker side of love.
Caca Don’t Preach (2012) by Miguel Maldonado was shot on Super-8 film and is the tale of an automated society that leads the main characters on a delirious and marginal journey through the inner depths of a disturbed psyche, polluted by the city excesses. Agoraphobia, a syndrome of religious psychological phenomena, literary nymphomania and domestic hallucinations dominate these characters that dwell between the grotesque and hyper realism. Now I’m Yours (2013) by Cristine Brache is an advertisement about a hypnosis product specifically designed to control women. Cristine Brache is an artist and poet. Her videos have recently been screened at The Phillips Collection, the Museum of the Moving Image, and the Festival des Cinémas Différents et Expérimentaux de Paris. She recently had a solo show at Guccivuitton in Miami, Florida. She lives and works in Guangzhou, China. cristinebrache.info
